The Challenge

Our client approached us with a challenge that required a quick resolution: approximately 400 metres of existing post and rail fencing between their paddock and driveway that had fallen into serious disrepair, with posts rotting and panels collapsing, making the boundary unsafe for their horses. They also wanted to ensure their new hedgerow was protected. It was vital that the fencing solution met three criteria: keep their horses secure and safe; protect their newly planted hedge; and be practical, functional, and structurally sound.

The Solution

Following a thorough site assessment, we recommended horse net fencing,  specifically designed with a smaller mesh pattern to prevent horses from catching hooves or legs, significantly reducing injury risk compared to standard stock fencing.

Following the full removal and clearance of existing collapsed and rotting post and rail fencing, we installed a new fence comprising of horse net fencing with creosote-treated round posts for long-term durability. Additionally, we added a 150mm timber rail above the net for a clear visual barrier and added security, and fitted of two half-mesh metal gateways for practical, safe access.

The Outcome

The completed installation delivered exactly what the client needed. The new horse net fencing provides a safe, robust, and attractive boundary that protects both the horses and the newly planted hedge as it establishes.

The client was thrilled with the result – the fencing met every aspect of their brief, combining practicality with long-term durability across the full 400-metre run.
